UUID generator

Version 4 identifiers from random bits. The version nibble is 4 and the variant nibble is 8, 9, a or b.

How it works

Sixteen bytes are filled from a seeded or browser random source. Bits 4–7 of byte 6 become 0100, which marks version 4. The top bits of byte 8 become 10, which marks the RFC variant.

You can ask for up to 20 values. They are not checked against any database. Collisions at this size are not a practical concern for a fixture file.

Questions

Is this uuid v7?

No. Version 7 sorts by time. This page only emits version 4, which does not encode a timestamp.

Can I paste one to validate?

Yes. The checker accepts the canonical 8-4-4-4-12 hex form and requires the version and variant nibbles.

Does the site store them?

No.
