IBAN-like test numbers

Pick a country shape, and the page fills the check digits so the rearranged number modulo 97 equals 1. These are not accounts.

How it works

An IBAN starts with two letters and two check digits. To verify, move the first four characters to the end, turn letters into numbers (A=10 … Z=35) and confirm the integer modulo 97 is 1. To generate, we set the check digits to 00, compute that remainder, and store 98 minus the remainder.

Lengths follow the published country formats for BR (29), DE (22), GB (22), FR (27) and ES (24). The sample GB82 WEST 1234 5698 7654 32 is the well-known documentation IBAN and should validate.

Questions

Can I send money to one of these?

No. Treat every generated value as a fixture. A passing mod-97 check only means the international digits are consistent.

Why might a bank still reject it?

Banks also check the bank code, the branch and a national check digit. This tool deliberately stops at the IBAN check so you can test the international layer.

Does it call a bank API?

No. Generation and validation run in your browser.
